2024 Sasbacher Rote Halde Pinot Noirs Blanc de Noirs
Kabinett trocken, Sasbacher Winzerkeller eG
Baden is one of the most varied regions in the German wine landscape. In the south the Bodensee with the Alps, in the north the beautiful Tauber valley. In between, the gentle hills around Heidelberg, or the Kaiserstuhl, a volcanic massif in the middle of the Rhine Valley.
The landscapes offer soils as varied as gravel and chalk, shell limestone, loess, volcanic rock, granite, but also gneiss and keuper. The climate of the vineyards, 300 km apart, offers everything. These different climatic and geological conditions bring a great variety of wines.
The Burgundy wines (Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir) are the classics in Baden with more than half of the cultivated area, but Riesling and Silvaner are no less important, as they are particularly good in some regions (Ortenau, Kraichgau, Kaiserstuhl).
