2022 Sauvignon Touraine
Biowein (FR-BIO-01), Domaine de la Charmoise
The Loire Valley is the most extensive wine-growing region in France. Along the river and its tributaries, about 70,000 hectares of vineyards are cultivated over 1000 kilometres. This corresponds to 10% of the French production. Due to the different climate zones and grape varieties the most different wines are produced.
From the light Muscadet, a perfect companion of seafood or the fresh Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre, Pouilly Fumé and the Touraine, up to the long-lived and famous, but in Germany not very well-known, Chenin Blanc from Vouvray or Montlouis. The Chenin Blanc will procduce wines from very mineral and dry to very sweet.
The red wine offer reaches from the light, fruity Gamay of the Touraine over earthy Pinot Noir up to strong Cabernets from Anjou, Saumur, Bourgueil and Chinon.
In this variety everybody will find his preferred wine!
